# Future of Sirix / what do you want to have next?

Hi,

after releasing 0.9.0 in a couple of days I want to focus on fixing bugs I encounter and finally adding JSON update expressions in the XQuery processor we are using (Brackit).

After that I want to release release candidates for our 1.0.0 which finally lead to the 1.0 release. From there on we could for instance look into horizontal scaling, which is probably even higher on my agenda than a cost based optimizer and storage optimizations, but I’d love to get some feedback. What would you like to see next?

In the meantime I’ve implemented the index rewrite rules, changed a lot of stuff regarding JSON processing in Brackit and added JSONiq update primitives.
